Rice Socks, and Realizing a Goal
Its funny, I just started and I'm already falling behind on posting!! But here's the skinny: Peyton, this is for you. Anyone else that reads this, whoo hoo! But I'm writing specifically with the intent of you getting to read this some day.
Currently, its about 4 am and I'm sleeping on the floor of your room trying to get little 5 week old you to learn to love sleeping in the crib-a surprisingly hard task. You don't fall asleep well unless someone's holding you and wake up in distress when you realize you've been set doe (perhaps we accidentally got you a little spoiled, for a couple weeks you were nearly never anywhere but in my arms...or daddys or grandmas or papas or your aunts and uncles)! So Aunt Sara said to try a rice sock. Ingenious.
Heres how it works:
find an unwanted sock, tube sock or other tall socks if you can (we used a football sock). Fill said sock with dry rice and tie off the open end. Wha-La. You have a rice sock. Now to make it work, microwave it! Make sure its not too hot or too cool to deceive your babies, you just want her to think she feels the warmth of a human being.
:) I have found this so handy.
This isn't to say you shouldn't hold and love on babies, trust me-its still one of my favorite things in the world to get to hold and kiss my precious daughter I waited so long to meet. Just trying to get some shut eye myself.
But PJ, you are waking up in your crib as I type away on my phone so I'm signing out for now again. With this new idea as this is for you, maybe I'll be better about keeping it up :) being a new mommy makes me lose track of time horribly-it blurs together.
Love you Sunshine🌟
